Andean Community (COMUNIDAD ANDINA DE NACIONES, CAN for short), from Colombia, and Peru, and Chile, and Bolivia and Ecuador South America 5 was established in 1969. Organization: (1) the Presidential Council (1995, formerly known as the Commission of the Cartagena Agreement): the highest decision-making body, determine the direction of the integration process of the organization. (3) the General Secretariat: replaced the Commission of the Cartagena Agreement, is a residential community of executive bodies, authorized to represent the Andean dialogue with other integration organizations. Secretary-General, elected by the Foreign Ministers of the Member States, served for four years, up to a second term.
