Pacific Islands Forum as "the South Pacific Forum", established in August 5, 1971, in the New Zealand capital Wellington in 2000 October, "the South Pacific Forum" was officially renamed the "Pacific Islands forum". The Pacific Islands Forum has 16 members: Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Tang Jia, Papua New Guinea, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Micronesia, Solomon islands, Nauru, Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands, the Cook islands, Niue, Palau. The forum leaders meeting once a year, held in each member country or area turns. From 1989 onwards, the forum invited Chinese, USA, British, France, Japan and Canada and other countries attended the forum leaders meeting of the dialogue after the meeting. From 1990 onwards, Chinese has sent 22 government representatives to attend the dialogue meeting. At present, there are 14 dialogue partners forum.

All 9 organizations: Fiji School of Medicine (FSchM), the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA), the Pacific Islands Development Agency (PIDP), Education Review Committee of the South Pacific (SPBEA), the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), the South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC), the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), the South Pacific Tourism Organization (SPTO), South University of the Pacific (USP).
